250 million people interact with Augmented Reality on Snapchat. 74% of Germans are interested in using AR. It’s not just entertainment. The 74% relates to using AR to either learn something or get additional information about the environment.
A current example of this is the #PlasticGate campaign, for which Snapchat wraps the Brandenburg Gate in plastic waste. AR can be used here to convey socially relevant messages.
